Inch Royal Kashmiri Papier-Mâché Elephant (Hand-Painted Gold Naqashi)

This magnificent 18-inch (45 cm) sculpture is a rare, large-scale masterpiece of Kashmiri Papier-Mâché, an ancient Persian-influenced art form. Hand-sculpted with a reinforced core to support its substantial size, the elephant is adorned with breathtakingly intricate Naqashi (miniature painting) featuring vibrant gold and silver leaf accents. Every inch of its surface is covered in traditional “Tree of Life” and floral motifs, representing prosperity and growth, while the raised trunk serves as a traditional symbol of good luck and welcome.
